El Paso high school football players named to All-State team
Several El Paso high school football players have been named to the Blue Bell/Texas Sportswriters Association Class 5A and Class 6A All-State teams.
Eastlake linebacker Hector Hinojos was named to the second-team and will play in college at Western New Mexico.
Eastlake place-kicker Julian Melucci was named to the third team and will play in college at Sul Ross State.
Eastwood's Robert Legarda was named to the third-team as a defensive lineman. He helped the Troopers to a bi-district playoff victory.
Pebble Hills' Robert Deal was named to the third team as a utility player. Deal is headed to Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas, to play baseball and football.
Eastwood's Curtis Murillo was honorable mention at defensive back and wide receiver. He was one of best two-way players in El Paso and has Division I interest.
Eastwood's Evan Minjarez was named honorable mention at quarterback. Minjarez returns next year as a senior.
Pebble Hills quarterback Gael Ochoa was named to the honorable mention team. Ochoa has Division I interest and returns next year.
Eastlake's Caleb Emery was named to the honorable mention team as a defensive lineman and will play at Eastern New Mexico.
Canutillo's LJ Martin was named to the third team at running back and has signed with BYU.
All but Martin were named to the Class 6A team.
