El Paso PD: Woman arrested, charged with intoxication manslaughter in fatal crash

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 22-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter after a fatal crash in Northeast El Paso over the weekend, El Paso Police said.

The three-vehicle crash happened a little after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11 along the 8500 block of Dyer.

3-vehicle crash in Northeast causes serious injuries

Police say that Nadean Lopez, 22, was driving southbound on Dyer when she rear-ended another car that was stopped at a red light at Dyer and Tetons.

Another car that was traveling through the intersection was hit by the force of the initial crash, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended, identified as 50-year-old John Cryan, died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash was not hurt, police said.

Lopez was arrested for intoxication manslaughter. She was later booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on a $205,000 bond, according to police.

This is the eighth fatal crash in El Paso city limits so far this year, compared to 12 at the same time last year.
