The Ysleta Independent School District (YISD) was one of eight Texas school systems selected to participate in a statewide pilot program, which would conduct rapid testing of district employees and students, an announcement from the district said.
According to news reports, students would be tested with written permission of their parents, and schools enrolled would receive personal protective equipment, in order to slow the spread of coronavirus across school campuses.
The test would deliver reliable results in 15 minutes.
