El Paso Strong: Community sells T-shirts to support shooting victims, families

EL PASO, Texas – As the El Paso community expresses anger, grief and unity after a domestic terror attack by a gunman who targeted a heavily Hispanic area and killed 22 people at Walmart near Cielo Vista Mall, some businesses have begun selling "El Paso Strong" merchandise to support victims and their families.

The latest relief effort comes after many El Pasoans and others lined up to donate blood and give other donations to help victims following Saturday's shooting.

The death toll in Saturday's shooting nearly matches the number of homicides El Paso had in all of 2018. Authorities have charged 21-year-old Patrick Crusius, who is white, with capital murder.

All of the proceeds will go towards the victims and families, via the El Paso Community Foundation.

Big Frog Custom T-Shirts and More

Big Frog Custom T-Shirts and more is partnering with Operation Hope to sell El Paso Strong T-shirts. The funds will go toward Operation Hope, a local nonprofit supporting the shooting victims and families with emotional and financial costs. Order online: https://elpasostrong.itemorder.com/sale

MT Needles Embroidery

Proceeds will be donated to the El Paso Police Department's official victims fund. The shirts can be ordered online and customers will be contacted to pick up their orders in about a week to ten days, according to a Saturday statement by MT Needles Embroidery.

Wood + Mor

Preorder through Facebook post — 100% of the proceeds will go towards the victims and families affected.

Shirts come in black or grey and are $20 each for sizes S-XL. Sizes over XL are an extra $5.

Chuco Relic

Preorders for El Paso Strong shirts are closed, but shoppers can find them on Friday, Aug. 9 in store.

Shirts are available at 11 a.m. Tuesday. All of the proceeds will go towards the victims and families.
