Elderly driver's death after Des Moines car crash apparently from other cause, police say

An elderly driver who died following a Saturday crash in Des Moines suffered a "medical event" before the accident, Des Moines police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Parizek said.

Parizek said the man died later at a hospital and that "all indications are ... his death is not related to the crash itself," which occurred at the intersection of East 14th Street and East Court Avenue.
