Elderly Fenton man facing child pornography charge

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – An 81-year-old Fenton, Missouri, man is accused of downloading child sexual abuse material from the internet and storing it on his electronic devices.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received four cybertips of child porn downloads using the Bing search engine.

Investigators claim the downloads were tied to a device belonging to Earnest Smallwood.

Deputies obtained a subpoena and search warrant for Smallwood’s residence. The illicit material was located on Smallwood’s devices, and authorities claim he confessed.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Smallwood with one count of possession of child pornography. Smallwood was jailed on a $5,000 bond.
