Elderly woman carjacked in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood

An elderly woman attacked, and her car stolen. Now, she’s speaking out as her attacker heads to court.

“I forgive him, but I still want him to know that he can’t get away with this and I don’t want anybody else to get hurt,” the woman told Channel 11.

This woman is talking about her attacker, Raymond Wilson. She was driving her car on Joshua Street in the middle of the day on Oct. 4 when she spotted Wilson on the street.

“I saw him coming out the driveway of my neighbor’s home and I just kept going parked my car and locked it,” she said.

She told Channel 11 she was doing everything right. She was on high alert and aware of the situation, but never did she think she would become a victim of a carjacking.

“When I came up to the sidewalk, he pushed me down and grabbed my house keys.”

Quickly, Wilson realized he needed the car keys and she said he attacked her again.

“After he pushed me down, I was just lying there screaming for help and he just went in my pocket and took it and took off.”

Just a half mile down the road, police said Wilson crashed the car rolling it over the hill.

“They had him handcuffed and they asked me if he was the guy and I said yes.”

A terrifying situation over in just minutes. Now, Wilson is charged with several crimes including robbery. His Tuesday hearing was waived as the courts wait for a mental health evaluation.

“I forgive him I really forgive him because I’m a Christian and that’s what the lord would want me to do.”

We asked her what was going through her mind as this was all happening. She told us she just wanted to get her house keys back so there was no opportunity for her house to get robbed too.
