Elderly woman critically injured by SUV as she crosses Queens street
An elderly woman was struck and critically wounded by an SUV as she crossed a Queens street Saturday, cops said.
The 89-year-old victim was crossing 48 St. near Northern Blvd. in Long Island City about 2:40 p.m. when a Dodge Durango pulling out of a parking lot struck her, police said.
The 37-year-old driver stayed at the scene.
Medics took the woman to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition. Her name was not immediately released.
Police were still investigating the crash Saturday evening.
