Many voters in Maricopa County will be asked to vote for justices of the peace and constables.

In addition, a seat is being contested for the Maricopa County Community College District board.

Maricopa County Community College District

Meet the candidates: Kelli Butler and Randy Kaufman were running against each other for an at-large seat. Kaufman suspended his campaign Oct. 18 after news broke that was arrested and accused of public sexual indecency in one of the district’s parking lots.

Marie Sullivan in District 3 and Donna Davis in District 4 are unopposed and have won election.

Maricopa County Special Health Care District

Two seats on the Maricopa County Special Health Care District are up for a vote, but none is on the Nov. 3 ballot. The two candidates for those seats face no general election challengers, allowing the county to cancel their election and declare them the winners.

Kate Brophy McGee in District 3 and incumbent Woody Thomas in District 4 are the winners.

McGee is a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 28 from 2011 to 2017. She served in the Arizona Senate from 2018-2021.

Thomas was sworn into office for a four-year term in December 2018.

The five-member board oversees the state’s only public health care system, which serves as a safety net for the poor and as a teaching hospital. It is a nonpartisan office.
