Other Manitowoc County races include the offices of sheriff and coroner. Sheriff Dan Hartwig is running unopposed for his second term and Coroner Curt Green is running unopposed for his fourth term.

Two Rivers voters will also find a referendum included in their ballot from the Two Rivers Public School District. If approved, the school district would use the $38.7 million to expand L.B. Clarke Middle School and update safety and technology needs throughout the district.

The referendum is expected to increase the property taxes by $49 for each $100,000 of property value, which would bring the projected 2022 tax mill rate from $8.43 to $8.92 per $1,000 of property value.

Three towns in Manitowoc County will also have a referendum. The towns of Gibson, Kossuth and Schleswig will ask voters if the people holding the positions of town clerk and town treasurer should be appointed by the town board of each respective community. In the past, those positions have been filled through elections.

Statewide races

The biggest race of Tuesday's election is for Wisconsin governor between Democratic incumbent Tony Evers and challengers Tim Michels and Joan Ellis Beglinger. Michels has registered as Republican and Beglinger as independent.

Voters in the northern part of the county will also see a race for the 1st State Senate District between Republican incumbent André Jacque and Democratic challenger Andrea Gage-Michaels.
