Election: How, when and where to vote in the Eugene area this November

Local elections are scheduled for across the state Nov. 7. Here are five things you need to know.

How to register to vote in Oregon

To register to vote in Oregon, you must be a resident of the state and a U.S. citizen and at least 16 years old. (If you are not yet 18, you will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after your 18th birthday.)

The deadline to register for this election is Oct. 17.

What's on my ballot?

November elections in odd-numbered years often primarily include city or district bonds and levies. Your ballot will vary based on where you live.

Eugene voters will select a new city council member to represent Ward 7.

In Lane County, ballots may also include:

  • Five Pleasant Hill Goshen Rural Fire Protection District director positions, along with proposals to dissolve the Pleasant Hill Rural Fire Protection District and the Goshen Rural Fire Protection District and create the Pleasant Hill Goshen Rural Fire Protection District with a permanent tax.

  • A five-year renewal of a local option tax to maintain general operations for the River Road Park and Recreation District.

  • Renewal of a five-year levy for Siuslaw School District school operations.

When will I get my ballot?

Ballots are mailed out to all registered voters living in Oregon starting Oct. 18.

When/where must I return my ballot?

Ballots in Oregon must be postmarked by election day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 p.m. on election day.

  • Lane County Elections, 275 W. 10th Ave., Eugene. Enter from Lincoln Street.

  • Juvenile Justice Center, 2727 MLK Jr. Blvd., Eugene.

  • Lane County Public Works, 3050 N. Delta Highway, Eugene.

  • Amazon Pool, 2600 Hilyard St., Eugene.

  • Pearl Street, 777 Pearl St., Eugene. On Pearl Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues.

  • Walmart, 4550 W. 11th Ave., Eugene. North side of the parking lot.

  • Bethel Library, 1990 Echo Hollow Road, Eugene.

  • River Road Park and Recreation Center, 1400 Lake Dr., Eugene. On south island in parking lot off Lake Drive.

  • City of Creswell, 13 S. First St., Creswell. North side of parking lot at corner of South First and C streets.

  • Florence Police Department, 900 Greenwood St., Florence.

  • Old Lowell City Hall at Paul Fisher Park, 107 E. Third St., Lowell.

  • Springfield City Hall, in drive-through under building between Fifth and Sixth streets off A Street.

  • Splash! At Lively Park, 6100 Thurston Road, Springfield.
