Elections judges needed in Mesa County

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — You might have received an email from the Mesa County Democrats or Republicans asking if you want to be an elections judge. WesternSlopeNow spoke to Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Bobbie Gross to find out what being an election judge is all about.

Gross said by law Mesa County elections need to exhaust all major party options—Republicans and Democrats—before they reach out to independent voters and members of smaller parties.

Once you’re approved to be an election judge, Gross told WesternSlopeNow there are several ways you can help out.

We try and find a good fit for them. So, if they’re not great with computers then we have positions for greeters at the door. We have positions where they help us open our ballots, they do signature verifcation. So, we have multiple positions within the election that they can help.
