Electric vehicle catches fire, explodes in Boulder garage

DENVER (KDVR) — An electric vehicle caught fire and exploded at a home in Boulder Saturday.

Boulder Fire-Rescue responded to Emerald Road just after 6 a.m. for a fire alarm sent by an alarm company and found a smoking electric vehicle.

The call was changed to a Fill-the-Box call, which requests additional resources to the scene. At the same time, the vehicle exploded inside the garage.

All of the home’s residents were safely evacuated and there are no injuries, according to Boulder Fire-Rescue. Firefighters were on the scene removing the vehicles safely from the garage and ventilating the house because it filled with smoke during the incident.
