New elementary schools to open in east Charlotte this year

It’s been a while since east Charlotte got a newly built elementary school.

This coming school year, two of them will welcome students on that side of town for the first time.

Parents like Tiffany Woodard say it’s about time east Charlotte is a focal point.

“Being a parent and knowing that children don’t always get what they need because class sizes are so large,” she said. “I think it’s great for the technology that they’re building. The new schools are incorporating new technology, and even the bigger windows are more inviting.”
