Upcoming Ted Bundy movie No Man of God, which is set to star Lord of the Rings' Elijah Wood, has landed a release date for this summer.

The new film is the latest in a string of projects focused on the serial killer after the likes of Zac Efron's Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and Netflix's Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

It has now been confirmed that No Man of God will be released in August, according to Deadline, following a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.

The movie is set to explore the relationship between Bundy (Luke Kirby) and FBI agent Bill Hagmaier (Wood), the latter interviewing him multiple times over a number of years about his horrific crimes.

"The film is really comprised of a series of conversations," Wood previously explained, "and those conversations are lifted in part from real conversations and then recollections from Bill of these conversations".

No Man of God is being directed by Amber Sealey, with Aleksa Palladino and Robert Patrick also set to star alongside Wood and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel's Kirby.

Meanwhile, earlier this year Wood and fellow actor Daniel Radcliffe revealed that they have often been mistaken for one another following the success of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

Recalling one incident, the Frodo star told Empire Magazine: "Once I was in an elevator… just me and one other person, and I could feel them looking at me intently.

"Just before the door opened… he finally got up the courage, pointed at me and said, 'Harry Potter!' I said 'No!' and I walked away."

No Man of God is set to be released in August.
