Our Elite 8 is set in the Musical Madness tournament. Vote to get them in the Final Four

Our Musical Madness bracket is down to the Elite 8, with four matchups that will set up next week's Final Four.

Four of the remaining nine musicals (one is a tag-team) have been at this for an extra week, getting into the tournament as No. 8 seeds through play-in games and toppling No. 1 seeds on their way forward. They are the Shakespeare team of "Love's Labour's Lost" and "Twelfth Night," "9 to 5," and "Bat Boy," all No. 8 seeds who are in the Elite 8.

If all this talk of musicals has you eager to see a show, check out our searchable musicals database and support local theater kids. And our list of musicals this week.

Voting is open till 8 p.m. Thursday.

RODGERS REGION

'Love’s Labour’s Lost'/'Twelfth Night' (8) vs. 'The Little Mermaid' (3)

The Shakespearean tandem of “Love’s Labour’s Lost” and “Twelfth Night” sent "Anastasia," the would-be-might-be-Romanov on a journey to the past, with 60% of the votes cast. They will face No. 3 seed “The Little Mermaid,” which topped No. 2 “Mean Girls.” That showdown flipflopped before Ariel found her footing (and her feet) and sent the Plastics packing, 57% to 43%. Can those shows from Avon top that half-fish-out-of-water story to reach the Final Four? Only votes will make it so. See the shows: “Love’s Labour’s Lost” at New Rochelle, March 23-25, “Twelfth Night” at Clarkstown North, March 16-18. “The Little Mermaid” at Mount Vernon, May 18-21.

MIRANDA REGION

'9 to 5' (8) vs. 'In the Heights' (3)

Those fed-up office workers have punched their timecards and their ticket into our Elite 8, as “9 to 5” was the kiss of death for “Kiss Me Kate,” taking the win with 53% of the votes last week. Meanwhile, the lights stayed up on Washington Heights, as “In the Heights” advanced over “Jersey Boys,” with 66% of the vote. Usnavi and Abuela Claudia will need all their paciencia y fe in the Elite 8 against that crew from “9 to 5.” See the shows: “9 to 5” at John Jay, March 23-25. “In the Heights” finishes a two-weekend run at North Rockland, March 16-18. It comes to Peekskill, April 20-22.

MENKEN REGION

'Matilda' (4) vs. 'Hello, Dolly!' (2)

“Matilda,” the musical about the girl with the superpowers, proved it had the power to topple our bracket’s last-remaining No. 1, “Something Rotten!” with 60% of the votes. Her next test is another show with an exclamation point in its title, “Hello, Dolly!” The Jerry Herman chestnut bent and snapped “Legally Blonde,” getting 53% of the vote. See the shows: “Matilda” plays Walter Panas, April 14-15. (“Dolly” ran in Bronxville in February.)

SONDHEIM REGION

'Bat Boy' (8) vs. 'The Wedding Singer' (6)

In the Sondheim region, “Cinderella” was no match for our Musical Madness Cinderella story, “Bat Boy.” The quirky musical torn from the pages of a tabloid ran away with this contest, garnering 88% of the vote. It faces “The Wedding Singer,” which topped “Little Shop of Horrors,” with 65% of the votes. See the shows: “Bat Boy” plays Pelham, March 24-26. “The Wedding Singer” plays Somers, March 24-26.
