Elizabeth Olsen Explains What It Was Like Filming That All-Female 'Endgame' Fight Scene
A Massive Culmination
We've had some time to emotionally recover from Avengers: Endgame, but people are still talking about how the movie came together so well. For a single movie that had to wrap up a host of different storylines, Endgame managed to do it rather elegantly.
A Stand Out Moment
One of the standout moments in the blockbuster was the all-female Avengers charge to save Peter Parker from Thanos's hoard. It was a moment that had fans cheering and clamoring for an all-female Avengers film. A-Force fans, make some noise!
In a new Buzzfeed interview, Elizabeth Olsen opened up about what it was like to film that scene, saying that they "knew how important the moment was" and that they "felt the power."
A Hugely Technical Scene
However, while this scene was empowering to be a part of, it was extremely technical to shoot.
"It was such a specific shot. We had to find the perfect pocket so that everyone's face was seen. We had two cameras going at the same time because that was the only way we were going to be able to shoot it.
We had Tom Holland’s body double, then I had to land correctly jumping off a box, and then Danai [Gurira] had to be filmed when she had her line. The scene had to grow and move, and then we had to run together perfectly."
Is An All-Female Avengers Movie In The Works?
The scene had many people wondering if this meant an all-female Marvel film was on the way. Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel, is wondering the same thing.
"I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this.' What that means, I have no idea. You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen."
