BRISTOL — Elkhart Civic Theatre will hold auditions for the youth musical “Godspell Jr.” at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and Aug. 22 at the Bristol Opera House, 210 E. Vistula St.

In the musical, a group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage, as do his messages of kindness, tolerance and love.

A cast of 18 to 20 strong vocalists, dancers and actors, ages 8 to 18, is sought. Extensive solo/scene work to be assigned upon casting. All roles are open to actors of any gender identity.

Auditions will consist of a round of singing and a round of dancing followed by readings from the script. All audition materials will be provided.

“Godspell, Jr.” is directed by Jackiejo Brewers with music direction by Katie Peat and choreography by Heather Holland.

Performances are Oct. 7-9.
