Summit for youth workers features Michael Jr.

GOSHEN — The Elkhart County Children’s Summit on Aug. 25, an education and networking opportunity for local youth workers, will feature comedian and motivational speaker Michael Jr., along with stories and reflections from youth who are engaged in local systems.

Held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Maple City Chapel, 2015 Lincoln Way E., there will be an update from the Elkhart County Child Dashboard, which tracks key data in children’s wellbeing. The meeting will also highlight the issue of chronic absenteeism from school and will bring the community together to address it. A vendor fair will feature local programs and services.

Michael Jr. will present his seminar “Know Your Why” about discovering and activating your purpose.

Registration costs $15 and is required at www.oaklawn.org/events.

It’s a joint effort between The SOURCE, Oaklawn, Elkhart County Juvenile Court, Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, Department of Child Services and Bashor Children’s Home.
