Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its September Teenagers of the Month. The students are selected by their respective schools based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship and service to school and community.

Alliance

Cameryn Mullaly – The daughter of Nicole Mullaly plays softball and volleyball.  She is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club and Culture Club. She is a peer pilot, tutor and a freshman orientation volunteer. Mullaly plans to attend a four-year university and major in forensic science while playing softball.

Jordan Schwartz – The son of Gwen and Gary Schwartz is president of the senior class. He plays soccer and is captain of the cross country and track teams, and an EBC Scholar Athlete. Schwartz is a member of National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, and the Debate and Speech team. He is in marching and concert bands. He volunteers with Student Senate and class officers at concessions and fundraisers. Schwartz initiated a food drive for local families. He plans to attend a four-year college and study political science or public policy.

Louisville

Tess Golden – The daughter of Jennifer Golden plays lacrosse, and is a member of National Honor Society, Jo's Girls, Key Club, Spirit Club, and is an Aultman Ambassador. She volunteers as junior coach for Girls on the Run and Safety City. Golden plans to attend an in-state college where she will study psychology and play lacrosse.

Charles Roberts – The son of Rob and Amanda Roberts is a captain of the football team, and also plays baseball and basketball. He is a member of National Honor Society and Key Club, is a Jo's Bros mentor, four-year class president and student representative on Louisville’s Board of Education. Roberts interned for two United States Senate campaigns, broadcasts volleyball and girls basketball, and volunteers with the Rotary flag drive. He plans to attend college to study political science and pre-law while playing baseball.

Marlington 

Camryn Mitchell – The daughter of Jason and Diane Mitchell is co-captain of the varsity sideline and varsity competition cheer teams, and is a member of the swim team and Alliance Country Club swim team. She is a member of National Honor Society, Character Counts, Rotary Interact, Duke Crew, Drama Dukes, Duke Street Select Vocal Ensemble, and president of Marlington Chorale. Mitchell was a Buckeye Girls State delegate, is a Washington Rising Star, and volunteers with local organizations. She coaches the Marlington Little Dukes JV cheer squad. Mitchell plans to attend college and pursue a degree in nursing while continuing her cheerleading career.

Nash Minor – The son of Ron and Anna Minor is captain of the cross country and track teams. He is president of the senior class, National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Minor is a member of Rotary Interact, Character Counts, an Aultman Ambassador and former member of Duke Crew. He plans to attend college to study cellular/molecular biology as an undergraduate and then study to become an orthopedic surgeon in medical school.

Minerva

Bethany Shuman – The daughter of Tracy Cook and Clayton Shuman runs track and is in the marching band. She is a member of International Circle, Chess Club, Chamber Choir, Youth Group, Travel Club and SADD. Shuman has been in the spring musical and fall play, and created a Bible Study. She plans to attend college to major in criminal justice, and then become credentialed in youth ministry while continuing her running career.

Daniel Smith – The son of Brian and Tricia Smith plays soccer, golf and baseball and is an EBC Scholar Athlete. He is an Eagle Scout, and was a Buckeye Boys State delegate. He is a member of Academic Challenge and Chess Club. Smith plans to attend college to pursue a degree in engineering, and would like to join ROTC and become an officer in the Air Force as a pilot.

St. Thomas

Sydney Brown – The daughter of Anthony and Dona Brown plays volleyball and is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Drama Club and Student Council. She is a student ambassador and tutors. Brown plans to study nursing in college.

Marcus Miller – The son of Tina Miller and David Miller is on the track and soccer teams. He holds St. Thomas’ school record for most assists in single soccer season. He is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club and Pep Club, and volunteers with Spina Bifida fundraisers. Miller plans to attend college to study education or sports medicine while playing soccer.

Sebring

Sadie Barker – The daughter of Becky Barker has been a member of the golf, softball and track teams. She is in marching and concert bands, and solo and ensemble choirs. She is a member of National Honor Society, Ecology Club, Language Club, Academic Challenge and on the yearbook staff. Barker is involved with fall plays, Trick or Treat for Turkeys, Powderpuff football and the Prom Committee. She plans to attend college to study engineering.

Brayden Whaley – The son of Katie Whaley and Jason Whaley is captain of the football team and runs track. He is a member of National Honor Society, Language Club and Ecology Club. Whaley plans to attend University of Mount Union to study computer science.
