Elkton-area orchard ranks No. 2 for apple picking in America

An orchard near Elkton, Maryland, was recently named as one of the best in the nation to pick apples.

Milburn Orchards, a family-run farm at 1495 Appleton Road, ranked No. 2 in a reader's choice list of the “top 10 orchards in the nation” for 2023. The poll was conducted by USA Today 10Best.

The Elkton-area orchard is perfect if you crave bonfire parties or large group outings. It offers a variety of u-pick apples, every weekend, plus Labor Day, in September and October.

Milburn Orchards is also known for its honey, local cheeses and ice cream. September hours for apple picking are Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and October hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, according to Milburn Orchards’ website.

Tickets are $2 per person for anyone over the age of 2. An online registration is required.
