Elle Fanning Just Served Up the Chicest—and Easiest—Summer Hair Trick in Cannes

The actress and festival juror stepped out today at Cannes Film Festival with her blonde lengths bound in a light pink ribbon.

Elle Fanning is officially stopping hearts at Cannes Film Festival—and she's doing it with well-placed hair accessories.

First she re-imagined the floral crown as something equal parts charming and red-carpet-worthy, following up the beauty maneuver with a stylized black macramé hat from Dior donned for Tuesday's premiere of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And earlier this morning, the actress and festival juror stepped out with her flaxen lengths parted at center, bound low and loose, and finished with a light pink ribbon.

The saccharine touch was entirely on-brand for Fanning, who, when it comes to aesthetics, has long leaned into her ingenue roots with pastels and a general vibe at home in a Sofia Coppola-crafted universe. But it was the head-to-toe nature of today's turn that demanded extra attention. Blush ballet tones infused every aspect of Fanning's look: Her stacked sandals, woven blouse, ethereal skirt, and gradient sunnies; the latter's oversized shape accentuating Fanning's rouged cheeks.

A roseate lip could've served as a worthy final step to the monochromatic moment, but Fanning's hair ribbon, tied in a bow that played over her shoulder at certain angles, was a thoughtful, characteristically sweet addition—and one that onlookers are bound to be adapting in the coming weeks.
