Elleda Wilson: Searching for Bryson

Feb. 16—Bryson Fitch was aboard the F/V Ethel May crab fishing on Feb. 5 when a large wave hit the boat, causing Bryson and two other crew members to scramble for the life raft ... except Fitch didn't make it to the raft, and the boat sank. The U.S. Coast Guard rescued his crew mates, but Fitch has not been found.

Fitch was the sole provider for his wife, McKenzie Salas, and three children, Ryder, 6, Paisley, 4, and Capri, 4 months. A GoFundMe page has already been started at bit.ly/BrysonFitch for them.

"He's still out there, and we wanna bring him home, and we need people to help us search," his sister, Kelsea Broddy, told KING5.com. To stay updated on the search, see the Bring Bryson Home Facebook page.

"If you feel called in your heart to donate to this family to continue the search for Bryson and help navigate this nightmare," Malia Salas, organizer of the fundraiser, wrote, "it would be greatly appreciated ... The search by air, boat and land has been happening since. Friends, family and locals are not giving up hope."

"On behalf of McKenzie, kids and family," Malia added, "we wanted to say thank you, and we are forever grateful for all of the support we have had during this time."
