Anne Heche is being remembered fondly by social media users.

The actress died Friday, a week after crashing her car into a home on the west side of Los Angeles, setting the car and house afire. Many are also expressing sympathy for the home’s occupant, who lost everything in the blaze.

Several Twitter users are noting the impact of Heche’s relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. They were a couple from 1997 to 2000.

DeGeneres posted her condolences to Heche's family and friends. "This is a sad day," DeGeneres wrote. "I'm sending Anne's children, family and friends all of my love."

Other celebrities and social media users also paid their respects to the actress.

"Rest in peace Anne Heche. Such a uniquely gifted actress gone way too soon. It was an honor to have worked with her," wrote CSI: Las Vegas's Marg Helgenberger.

The Rotten Tomatoes Twitter account wrote, "Anne Heche, best known for her roles in Six Days Seven Nights, Donnie Brasco, and Volcano, has sadly passed away. Rest in peace."

Heche's ex-husband, Coley Laffoon, posted a video to Instagram memorializing the actress and promising to care for their son, Homer, who is 20. Heche also has a 13-year-old son, Atlas, from a relationship with James Tupper.

"In the wake of Anne's passing, I just wanted to say a few things. One, I loved her and I miss her and I'm always going to. Two, Homer is OK," Laffoon said. "He's grieving, of course, and it's rough. It's really rough, as probably anybody can imagine, but he's surrounded by family, and he's strong, and he's going to be OK."
