Ellen DeGeneres, one of Anne Heche's most famous ex-partners, has offered up a brief statement regarding the tragic wreck that left the actress hospitalized and in critical condition.

According to Daily Mail, who approached DeGeneres in Santa Barbara, California, the comedian and daytime talk show host didn't have much to say about the situation.

When asked about her ex's condition, DeGeneres said: "We are not in touch with each other, so I would not know."

However, she clarified that she wishes for her recovery, stating, "I don't want anyone to be hurt."

Heche and DeGeneres dated from 1997 to 2000. Their romance made waves after their red-carpet debut at the premiere of Heche's film Volcano.

On Aug. 5, Heche crashed her car into a Los Angeles home, igniting a blaze.

As a result of the crash, Heche remains currently in a coma, with a rep saying that the actress is in "extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention."

Per ET, the crash that set both Heche's car and the L.A. home on fire was the third within a 30-minute span. She reportedly crashed into the garage of an apartment complex first before nearly hitting a pedestrian and then actually hitting a Jaguar. The driver was not injured.

Her 20-year-old son, Homer Heche, is by his mother's side, making sure that she receives the best medical care and support, as reported by ET.

Back in 1998, DeGeneres described meeting Heche for the first time in an interview with Tampa Bay Times.

"I met her at the Vanity Fair party. And it was a chemistry thing that you can't really describe. It just happened. Obviously I was attracted to her, but that wasn't enough. There are a lot of attractive people. She is so unique," the talk show host said.

Heche's first impression of DeGeneres was similar as she stated that once they met, she "just knew bliss in that moment."

The couple split in 2000, with DeGeneres going on to marry Portia de Rossi in 2008, while Heche wed Coleman Lafoon from 2001 to 2009 and was in a long-term relationship with James Tupper from 2007 to 2018.
