GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ellet 61, Firestone 21

Freshman Caitlyn Holmes scored 18 points to lead visiting Ellet (10-5, 7-1) past Firestone (5-6, 4-4) in a City Series game Thursday night.

Mia Parks and Rachel Wenzel added 13 points apiece for Ellet, and Trinity Brown scored 10 points. Firestone's Aalivia Mullins scored 11 points.

Kenmore-Garfield (8-6, 8-1 City Series) received a win with East forfeiting.

Buchtel 73, North 12

Jaeda Tavares scored 19 points, Aniyah Howze-Blake contributed 16 points and Davionna Singleton chipped in 14 points for the Griffins.

Norton 57, Cloverleaf 31

Senior Bailey Shutsa scored 16 points to surpass 1,000 career points in a win for the host Panthers (11-4, 10-0 Metro Athletic Conference).

Norton senior Gabby Destefano scored 12 points, sophomore Morgan Hallett chipped in 10 points and junior Addie Kropp finished with nine points. Cloverleaf's Laurell Brown scored 18 points.

Woodridge 43, Cuyahoga Falls 32

Cameron Hoover scored 14 points and Leah Mencer had eight points to lead the host Bulldogs (13-2) past the Black Tigers (7-9).

Archbishop Hoban 68, Lutheran East 35

Senior Lanae Riley scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Knights (14-0) over the Falcons (7-6).

Hoban's Rylee Bennett scored 13 points, Izzy Callaway contributed 10 points and Emma Rasmussen had nine points and four assists.

Kent Roosevelt 66, Field 32

Lexi Canning totaled 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Julia Nash finished with 10 points and five assists to lead host Kent. Ally Harlin scored 10 points for Field.

CVCA 62, Manchester 21

Gia Casalinova, Joi Williams and Kylie Bettinger scored 12 points apiece to lead the host Royals (9-4, 6-1 PAC-7) past the Panthers (4-10, 2-7).

Barberton 33, Tallmadge 28

AnTaniyha Easter scored 16 points and freshman Kya Witwer scored nine points to lead the Magics.

BOYS BASKETBALL

St. Vincent-St. Mary 69, Cleveland Heights 50

Ramar Pryor and Sencire Harris scored 16 points apiece, and Lance Hayes chipped in 15 points to lead the visiting Irish.

DIVING

Suburban League Championship

Highland's Andrew Chand and Kent Roosevelt's Anya Ferner won Suburban League championships in the pool at Twinsburg Fitness Center.

Chand won the boys title with an 11-dive total of 468.05 points. Jack McDaniel of Hudson finished second with 416.95 points.

Ferner won the girls crown with an 11-dive total of 406.00 points. Peyton Thurman of Revere placed second with 367.00 points.

GIRLS BOWLING

Archbishop Hoban 2,023, Coventry 1,910

Carly Jones led the Knights (5-0) with a 213 game and a 350 series.

BOYS BOWLING

Springfield 2,599, Streetsboro 2,321

Jerry Koerber rolled a 256 game and a 485 series to lead the Spartans (8-1). Ryan Golubski paced the Rockets with a 279 game and a 523 series.
