Ellwood City Council gives commendations to Club Hope founder and borough fire chief

ELLWOOD CITY – During its most recent monthly meeting, Ellwood City Council gave two commendations.

One was for Cara Atkinson, the founder and president of the Club Hope Foundation, in Ellwood City, for being one of the winners of the annual Pink Pamper “Woman of Courage” Award in October.

The award is given to cancer survivors who continue to work and make a difference for cancer patients and survivors in the community.

The second commendation was for Ellwood City Fire Department Chief Rick Myers, who recently obtained his “Professional Emergency Management Certification,” which is the highest certification in emergency management one can get in the state.
