Elmira Elks College fair taking place this week
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Elmira Elks lodge is hosting a college fair this week to promote higher educational opportunities for all.
Chirs Callas has been organizing the college fair for 13 years. This is something he is passionate about; he hopes that he has helped change some people’s lives through his work in the community.
“It’s rewarding because we’ve been trying to give back to the community…I’ve been trying for thirteen years”, Callas said.
The event is free of charge thanks to many donors and for those who attend you can expect to see representatives from two- and four-year colleges as well as technical schools, United States armed services and more.
“There are so many questions that need to be asked about the college process and this is a major investment…that’s why is so important for people to find out…what can I do to make the right choice”, Callas said.
The college fair is this Wednesday, May 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for those who want to attend.
