Forbes' list of 400 wealthiest Americans was released Tuesday, revealing the group is $500 billion richer than a year ago.
Elon Musk topped the list for the second consecutive year with a net worth of $251 billion, unchanged from last year. Next in line are Amazon founder Jeff Bezos at $161 billion and Larry Ellison, cofounder of the software giant Oracle, at $158 billion.
In total, the 400 richest Americans now hold $4.5 trillion in wealth, tying a record set in 2021. Net worths were calculated using stock prices from Sept. 8, 2023.
