Oct. 29—Emerging Leaders of United Way of Lake County is currently accepting nominations for its fifth annual "4 Under 40" Young Professional Awards.
Applications are being accepted through Nov. 1.
According to the nonprofit organization, the awards seek to recognize individuals for their hard work and achievements in the areas of leadership, community involvement, entrepreneurship, and professional accomplishment.
Nominees must live or work in Lake County and must be between the ages of 21 and 40 years old during the year ending Dec. 31, 2022, officials confirmed.

All four 2022 winners will be recognized by the Emerging Leaders during an awards ceremony Jan. 19 at The Everly in Mentor.
"Lake County is blessed to have so many dynamic, accomplished young professionals motivated to give back to our community," said Chairperson Kerry Jonke of Lakeland Community College.
Last year, winners were Laketran CEO Ben Capelle; KeyBank Branch Manager Brandi Haught; Andrew Somich, president and CEO of Somich & Associates CPAs; and Jen Yorko, general manager of the Lake County Captains.
A fifth honoree — Lake County YMCA Director of Development Sarah Baggot — was also recognized to include a candidate from the nonprofit sector for the first time.
The mission of the Emerging Leaders is to be a catalyst for change in the lives of Lake County youth through leadership, advocacy, knowledge, and education to facilitate positive behaviors that will create tomorrow's leaders, the organization noted.
The group welcomes new members interested in volunteering in efforts to impact the lives of Lake County's youth.
