Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke has revealed the stress she felt while shooting her character's big final speech to her troops. The 33-year-old portrayed Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen in the show for a decade, but her merciless actions eventually carved a path towards her destruction.

Appearing on the 'Duty Is the Death of Love' Thrones season 8 featurette, from the Blu-ray and DVD collection, she described her preparation for the scene where she addresses the crowd in Dothraki as "hell".

"I knew that speech was going to be really important, and I spent a huge amount of time learning it," she noted (via Entertainment Tonight). "And for the first time in my whole Game of Thrones career, I got that word perfect.

"I'm being so brutally honest here – I was in hell learning that speech. This pretend language was literally eating me up. I couldn't do it."

Thankfully, when she arrived on set, all that practice paid off and she nailed it.

"I woke up in the morning, went on, and it all came out," she said. "I was probably fighting not what I was fighting, but what Dany was doing!"
