Emily Atack warns fans to beware of social media imposter asking men for money

Emily Atack has warned her followers that an online fraudster pretending to be her is flirting with male fans and asking them for money.
Atack, who rose to fame for playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners, told her 1.7 million Instagram followers to be aware that there is an imposter out there.

In an Instagram story, she said that several people had made her aware of a fake Emily Atack account approaching people on Google Hangouts and asking for money.
She added: "I'm not laughing. I'm laughing at the thought, like imagine if that was me.
"It's not me. I promise you it isn't. It's not funny, this person pretending to me and asking for money."

The 31-year-old Celebrity Juice regular advised fans to simply block and delete anyone claiming to be her, stating that her official Instagram account is the only trusted one.
She added: "I've just been told that the key thing they say to people is 'don't worry, I'll refund you'.
"So it's obviously b***ocks... I wouldn't refund you."

Atack had a busy 2020, beginning her stint as a team captain on chaotic panel show Celebrity Juice and fronting her own stand-up comedy showcase The Emily Atack Show.
The star has spoken out about the abuse she receives online, as well as increasingly aggressive, sexually explicit messages and pictures from men.
"I’ve tried blocking people, they create new accounts, and blocking one person doesn’t stop 27 new reprobates from joining the dick pic queue," Atack wrote in Grazia.
She added: "It's not always a joke. It seems to be getting worse, as well as noticeably more disgusting and sexually aggressive."

Atack has also revealed she struggled for work after the initial run of "bombshell-type roles" she received after The Inbetweeners, but her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2018 reinvigorated her career.
She subsequently hosted spin-off show Extra Camp in 2019 and had a stint as a guest presenter on This Morning alongside jungle campmate John Barrowman.
