Hometown: Ipava

Parents’ Names: John and Sara Porter

Why did you decide to participate in the pageant?

My community has inspired me to run for the title of Miss Fulton County Fair. They have supported me in every event I have participated in thus far, such as 4-H shows and Top Gun competitions, and I would love nothing more than to make them proud by bringing the title back to my hometown of Ipava.

Why are county fairs so important to Illinois?

It’s important for all counties in the Northern, Central, and Southern zones under the IAAF to have county fairs because it not only brings the community together, but they also are an economic boost for the community. People from all over the county/state attend the fair’s daily events and while they are in town they might stop at a restaurant for a meal, or fill up their vehicle at a gas station. This allows our community to gain more money than usual, and ultimately helps our community to thrive all while encouraging agricultural education.
