All that glitters is gold... well, at least according to Emma Chamberlain.

The social media starlet wowed the crowd when she hit the red, white, and blue carpet of this 2022's Met Gala entitled “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” with the theme being “Gilded Glamour.”

Spectators, including us, couldn't take their eyes off Emma's new platinum blonde bob hairstyle styled by Aquage brand ambassador and celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko. The look paired perfectly with a gold, smokey eye created by bareMinerals Global Makeup Artist Ambassador Kelsey Deenihan. When we saw just how spectacular Emma looked, we knew we needed deets ASAP.

Starting with the hair, Laura Polko says that “In advance of this look, Emma bleached her hair ice blonde.”

Whether you want to go full out and dye your hair or keep your hair its natural hue, here's how you can recreate Emma's sleek, behind-the-ear look.

How to get Emma Chamberlain's Met Gala 2022 hairstyle

  1. “First, I prepped the hair with the Aquage Uplifting Foam to achieve volume and hold. Then, I blow-dried her hair with my new T3 AireLuxe hairdryer. Since her hair was recently bleached, I used the dryer's customizable settings at a 5 heat and 2 fan setting to protect Emma’s hair from damage.”

  2. “I got her hair straight by blow-drying it, and then I trimmed her hair into one length into a short bob style, working to create bulk at the ends by adding extensions.”

  3. “I then went through her hair with the T3 Lucea flat iron, touching up the ends and messing with them to get them right where I wanted.”

  4. “I then used the Aquage Transforming Paste and Aquage Dry Texture Finishing Spray to set the hair before I placed the vintage tiara into her hair.”

  5. “To keep the tiara in place, I braided two rows of baby cornrows at both sides where the tiara was being placed and secured it with a clear Scunci elastic. I then sewed the tiara into place with a thread and needle. I placed one more Scunci pin at the end to keep it tightly secured for the entire night.”

  6. “I put some finishing touches on her hair including some Aquage SeaExtend Volumizing Fix Hairspray and then she was off!”

Moving on to the makeup, makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan said "I wanted to complete the look with soft romantic colors and a pop of gilded glamour using gold leaf for the makeup."

Ahead, find a step-by-step guide to Emma's glowing look, from face and eye to lips.

How to get Emma Chamberlain's Met Gala 2022 makeup look

Skin

  1. Start with a clean and fresh base using CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser and CeraVe Hydrating Toner to remove any dirt/residue and lock in moisture.

  2. Next, a good SPF is essential in every makeup look and the secret to achieving a non-greasy, protective base. Apply CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 for lightweight, broad-spectrum sun protection.

  3. Lastly, prep for concealer by lightly dabbing a hydrating undereye cream such as the CeraVe Eye Cream to brighten and depuff, leaving behind a smooth base to keep your makeup looking fresh all night long and avoid any creasing!

Face

  1. To begin the look, Kelsey lightly applied a light veil of bareMinerals BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation in Sandstone to the entire face for a flawless, even complexion.

  2. To brighten under the eyes, Kelsey applied bareMinerals Original Liquid Mineral Concealer in Light 2N and then pressed a little bareMinerals Well-Rested Under Eye Brightening Powder over that.

  3. To set, Kelsey lightly dusted the whole face with bareMinerals ORIGINAL Mineral Veil Pressed Setting Powder in Medium.

  4. To add some natural-looking glow to the tops of Emma’s cheekbones, Kelsey used bareMinerals Endless Glow Highlighter in Free, and then swept GEN NUDE Blonzer in Kiss of Rose on the apples of her cheeks for the perfect pop of color.

Eyes

  1. For Emma’s eyes, Kelsey started by lining the whole eye with bareMinerals MINERALIST Lasting Eyeliner in Garnet and smudged along the lash line with a brush.

  2. Then, using bareMinerals MINERALIST Burnished Eyeshadow Palette and MINERALIST Rosewood Eyeshadow Palette, Kelsey applied a mixture of Heat 2 and Wildflower 5 to the lid, crease, and below the bottom lash line and blended with a medium blending brush to soften the edges. To deepen the inner and outer corners of the lid, Kelsey applied Burnt Rose 2 from the bareMinerals MINERALIST Rosewood Eyeshadow Palette.

  3. Next, Kelsey pressed Golden from the bareMinerals MINERALIST Treasured Eyeshadow Palette in the center of the lid and inner corner of the eye.

  4. For a touch of gilded glam, Kelsey added a dab of lash glue at the center of the top lash and applied a touch of 24k Gold Leaf.

  5. Lastly, Kelsey added a few generous coats of the bareMinerals MAXIMIST Phyto-Fiber Volumizing Mascara for a bold lash.

Lips

  1. Kelsey lightly dusted her lips with bareMinerals MINERALIST Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick in Insight and topped with bareMinerals MINERALIST Lip Gloss-Balm in Adventure.

  2. Finally, Kelsey applied a little gold along the Cupid’s bow for an extra little pop.

Alongside her surprise new 'do and her glowing makeup, Emma wore a custom two-piece look by Louis Vuitton. The outfit featured a yellow, puff-sleeve crop top and vintage Cartier tiara from 1911, which fit in perfectly with the glamourous aesthetic of the evening. The viral star who is an ambassador for the French fashion house wore another custom Louis Vuitton ensemble for 2021's Met Gala when she turned heads in a shimmery gold gown that featured a dramatic asymmetrical hem, flirty cutouts, and a plunging neckline.
