Filming of Emma Stone's new Disney movie Cruella could be postponed after the Oscar-winning star reportedly broke her shoulder at a Spice Girls concert.

The 30-year-old actress - who has relocated to London to play the classic villain in the prequel to 101 Dalmatians - is said to have badly injured herself after falling off her friend's shoulders during the girl group's recent UK tour.

According to The Sun, 'doctors told her to rest for up to two months and advised her to wear a sling', after she initially thought it was just badly bruised.

The source added that filming requires her to be in 'top physical condition for the role which is active and involves running around after dogs'.

Production had been confirmed to take place on Monday 8 July at various locations across the capital.

The actress met Emma Bunton - Stone's favourite Spice Girl - at their recent reunion concert at Wembley. Bunton excitedly shared photographs from their meeting on social media, although no mention was made of her injury.

Stone's casting as Cruella De Vil was reported in December last year, with Craig Gillespie, previously known for the Oscar-nominated I, Tonya, joining the project as director. Little else is known about the project, aside from that it's being billed as an origin story, set in the '80s with a 'punk vibe'.

Cruella De Vil was originally voiced by Betty Lou Gerson in Disney's 1961 animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians. She was also famously played by Glenn Close in the 1996 and 2000 live-action versions.

Stone has previously been very vocal about her love for the Spice Girls, and how their message of 'girl power' inspired her when she was growing up.

'I'm a very big fan of the Spice Girls - I was obsessed with them growing up. They taught me about girl power,' she recently revealed.

The La La Land star also admitted that she had seen the group in concert in the '90s, as well as at the O2 Arena in 2008, and that she was excited to be attending their reunion tour.

Harper's Bazaar UK has reached out for comment from Stone's representative.
