Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron Go Matchy Matchy—Right Down to the Small Details

The President and First Lady of France continued their united style front.

Last week, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron proved they’ve mastered off-duty couple’s style while going for a coordinated beach stroll together in Deauville, France. (There, they did sleek outerwear.) But on-duty this weekend, the President and First Lady of France continued their united style front, attending a state dinner in Paris in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 11 November 1918 Armistice that ended World War I. The fashion message this time around? Matching navy color schemes, right down to the small—but crucial—details.

For her part, Brigitte chose a simple navy shift dress with a coordinating single-breasted blazer, which had a wrap-tie detail at the waist for visual interest. She accessorized with navy suede pumps and a top-handle leather bag in a darker shade of navy. Meanwhile, Emmanuel wore a classic single-breasted navy suit with a crisp white button-up, which he kept tonal by adding a simple navy tie that indeed tied their looks together. His black lace-ups lent a sleek, polished finish. The verdict: a presidential couple on the same wave length.
