Emmerdale will revisit Victoria Barton's traumatic rape ordeal as part of a new storyline.

The character was sexually assaulted in 2019 by evil Lee Posner after meeting him in a nightclub. Lee later died after being beaten up by Victoria's brother Robert.

In new scenes set to air on the ITV soap, the residents of the village go for a big night out at the club.

Victoria is determined to set Ethan up following his recent split from Marcus, though realises the potential man, Sean, actually has eyes for her.

Victoria begins to let her guard down with Sean, though when he suggests they share a cab home, she is triggered and has a panic attack, as it brings back memories of what happened with Lee four years prior.

Elsewhere on Emmerdale, the soap is currently exploring a hard-hitting storyline for Paddy Dingle following the breakdown of his marriage to Chas, as the character contemplates suicide.

Speaking about the storyline, actor Dominic Brunt explained to Digital Spy and other media: "I hope as many people watch it as possible.

"We've got the perfect medium in soap to give this subject matter a platform and tell it in such a way that people will turn up to work the next morning and ask: 'Did you see Emmerdale last night? What did you think of that?' We can't squander that opportunity.

"Hopefully if it makes a difference even to one person, that's amazing. That's as much as we can hope for, really."
