Diane Sugden exits
Actress Elizabeth Estensen recently announced that she was leaving Emmerdale after 22 years playing matriarch, landlady and confidante Diane Sugden. And now, this is the week where we wave both her and Diane goodbye.
The upcoming drama sees Diane packing up to leave and sharing a tender moment with Pollard, who offers to buy out her stake in the B&B. It’s clear that these two are going to miss each other more than they’re prepared to admit.
The next day, Diane shares a box of Woolpack memories with Bernice and Chas before agreeing to the latter’s plans of a goodbye party. But how will this idea for a celebration work with Gabby’s scheme to do her moonlight flit?
Pregnant Gabby goes into labour
Speaking of Gabby, she’s inviting herself to Laurel’s for a family dinner – the secret aim of which is to say a private goodbye. And during the meal, the mum-to-be is left feeling overwhelmed with emotion as she takes stock of all that she’s about to leave behind.
Once back at Home Farm, Gabby ends up laying things on the line with Kim and telling her that she won’t be part of her baby’s life. But the outburst means that Gabby and Diane now have to leave sooner rather than later.
As Gabby secretly packs, she starts suffering pains in her stomach and, while trying to lug her suitcase out of Home Farm, ends up crashing to the floor and going into labour. The trouble is, that no one is around to help and – wouldn’t you just know it? – there’s also a power cut that has plunged the property into darkness…
Will Leyla confront Liam about his big lie?
While having a cup of tea with Tracey, Leyla decides to open up to her about the double life that Liam has been leading.

Tracy is now recommending that Leyla push for answers and bring matters to a head. But there’s the horrible danger that this ploy will backfire.
