Suzy’s past returns to haunt her
Suzy suggests to Moira that she hire out her barns for weddings. But after initially receiving a positive reaction to her idea, Suzy ends up putting her foot in it when she asks Moira about making use of the field where her daughter Holly is buried.
As long-time viewers will remember, Holly Barton died from a drug overdose back in September 2016, her body and a wrapper of heroin found by Moira the morning after her demise.
Now, a previously unseen side to Holly’s character is set to be revealed when Suzy spies a photo of Holly and has an adverse reaction, bolting from Moira’s after growing overcome with emotion.
Later on, at the café, Leyla finds Suzy surreptitiously browsing a remembrance page for Holly online. And after being caught in the act, Suzy admits that she knew Holly, and her recollections look set to leave Leyla gobsmacked.
Mary helps Marlon
Mary may have begun life on Emmerdale as a somewhat wayward personality but she’s now beginning to prove her worth as she reassures a nervous Marlon as he prepares to return home after recovering from a nasty recent case of pneumonia.
Having suffered a setback the last time he re-entered Smithy Cottage, Marlon is understandably fretful. And his anxiety mounts when he makes the acquaintance of physiotherapist Kit, who arrives in the village to aid with the next stage of the chef’s recovery.
That first physio session proves to be something of a struggle and Marlon is left feeling dejected. And when Kit recommends painting as a way of rehabilitating his motor control, the suggestion is met with opposition. But will Mary be able to change Marlon’s mind?
Cain v Faith
After last week’s unfortunate events, the rift between Faith and Cain has now become wider than ever. She may have been hoping for past grievances to be put to one side, but it’s fair to say that her efforts have backfired big time.
What we’ll see next is Moira left feeling appalled when an angry Cain wishes death upon his mother, despite Faith wanting to settle their differences. Faith, meanwhile, is also having to apologise to Dan over what happened between the two of them…
