As tensions escalate, Jimmy cuts Tom out of his life – a course of action that Nicola approves of, as in her eyes, Jimmy’s anguish over his nephew has been affecting the rest of the family. One example of this being him forgetting to take Angel to her dentist’s appointment.
With no other option but to take Angel herself, Nicola bundles her into the car, only for the vehicle to then collide with Moira’s at a junction on the outskirts of the village.
In a state of shock after the crash, the two women are left reeling at the sight of an unconscious Angel in the back of Nicola’s crushed car…
Wendy cheats on Bob with Liam
Wendy and Liam’s plans to attend a murder mystery convention are scuppered when the event moves online. But the pair still celebrate Liam’s nomination for a writing award when Wendy pops some champagne corks back at the surgery. And when Liam then bags the actual prize, he and Wendy end up getting passionate with each other.
Bob, meanwhile, will be seen rekindling his friendship with Bernice. And there’s a moment between them too when Bob tells Bernice that he’s always considered her to be beautiful. But as the wine flows, Bernice makes a drunken pass that Bob rejects – and he flees the room feeling guilt-ridden.
In the aftermath of all this, Wendy is seen struggling to hold things together having strayed, while an awkward Bernice advises Bob that he needs to show Wendy he cares about their relationship. But in light of what’s happened, are things salvageable?
Charles’s mother clashes with Manpreet
When Charles’s mother Claudette turns up unexpectedly at Woodbine, a disconcerted Manpreet realises she recently quarrelled with her at the café. And this awkward start only gets more uncomfortable when Claudette lambasts Manpreet for her past jilting of Charles.

When Claudette later overhears Manpreet talking of these tensions with Charles, she retaliates by deliberately hurting the GP’s feelings. But when Claudette then puts her back out, it’s Manpreet who’ll be left aggrieved when Charles decides to stay at home to look after his mother instead of going out on a date night.
Oblivious Gabby pushes forward with her wedding plans
Caleb is celebrating as the malware on Kim’s laptop has started to grant him access to her bank accounts. But he’ll also be seen cajoling Nicky into persuading Gabby to move their wedding date forward.
For her part, Gabby is trying to persuade Nicky to break their self-imposed celibacy, but he restates his case that they ought to wait until they’re married before having sex again. Her suspicions unaroused, Gabby then asks Bernice to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day.
Ryan is left embarrassed
Finally, Ryan is left lost for words when a face from his past reappears: Gail, who we last saw in 2019.
He’s immediately suspicious about her motives for being back in his life after an absence of four years. But the pair are soon set to be left feeling embarrassed when Charity catches them after they spend the night together.
