Emmerdale actor Danny Miller hasn't completely ruled out a 'Robron' reunion after returning to the Yorkshire Dales as Aaron Dingle this week.

Coined by fans of the soap, 'Robron' is the amalgamation of Miller's Aaron and Ryan Hawley's character Robert Sugden, who tied the knot in 2018 before things went pear-shaped.

"Every day I still get messages from people saying, 'Bring back Robron!' – I'm amazed!" Miller told Inside Soap. "I'd love to work with Ryan again but it's just a case of whether I can talk him round..."

Miller previously spoke about a return for Hawley last year, but admitted it was unlikely given Robert was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his part in Lee Posner's death back in 2019.

Miller returned briefly for the show's 50th anniversary last autumn. Addressing the idea that there could be a 'Robron' reunion, he said at the time: "I kind of imagined there'd be some crazy action thing just to really step outside – that it would be some action-packed thing where maybe Aaron could turn up and kidnap Robert out of prison.

"It was just stupid talk, I was actually telling Ryan about it! But no, it would’ve been really nice to have him back but it’s near impossible."

Monday's episode (October 9) confirmed that Aaron was the mystery character being held captive by Cain Dingle and Caleb Miligan at Wylie's Farm.

Cain and Caleb collected Aaron from Italy after learning that he was still consumed by grief over his late sister Liv, and was fully off the rails.

Miller caught up with Digital Spy and other media about his surprise comeback, and was asked for teasers regarding the future of this twist.

"I was just reading new scripts and it stays on that darker arc," he revealed.

"[Producers Laura Shaw and Jane Hudson] were saying: 'We're keen to keep that because we don't have that kind of character – who's looking for a fight, who's winding people up, who's got these smart comebacks and lines'.

"For me, that's quite good to play because Aaron keeps making smart remarks. It's good to play that character, and then eventually in the future hopefully he'll return to some form of who he used to be."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
