Emmerdale star Natalie Ann Jamieson has hinted that Amy Wyatt and Nate Robinson could have a future together.

Recent episodes have seen womaniser Nate (Jurell Carter) take a romantic interest in Amy following her return from Belfast, despite Moira Dingle's warnings that Cain won't approve.

Next week, Amy agrees to a date with Nate but they're interrupted when Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) reprimands the farmhand for moving on from their one-night stand so quickly.

Speaking about the tensions ahead, Natalie explained: "Without giving too much away, it's one of the best scenes I've ever filmed. When Amy finds out, she's really not impressed that Nate has taken her out on a date and not mentioned that he's slept with Tracy.

"It's quite an embarrassing situation for everyone. Amy, Kerry and Tracy all end up teaming up against Nate at the pub and it's a funny scene. I'm looking forward to watching that one!"

Despite this early setback, Amy sees Nate in a new light when he helps to rescue her young son Kyle from a life-or-death situation later in the week.

The show has revealed that Kyle's life will hang in the balance when he locks himself in the Dingles' garage and plays in one of the cars, with terrifying consequences when dangerous exhaust fumes start to fill the room.

Natalie continued: "When Kyle is found in the garage, it's because of Nate. So I think for Amy, even though Nate might have messed up a little bit with the Tracy thing, it was before they were together. It's something they could get over.

"For Nate to jump into action when Kyle goes missing, I think that's going to be a massive thing for Amy. Things could work for them after that moment for sure.

"They both have a similar spirit. Amy has been off travelling when she was in Belfast and she could potentially settle anywhere. Nate is a similar character, living in his caravan. I think that's appealing to Amy… and he's quite hunky as well, which doesn't hurt!"

Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with extra episodes at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
