Emmerdale's Lisa Riley pays sweet tribute to new co-star

Emmerdale actor Lisa Riley has penned a sweet tribute to her new soap co-star Paula Lane.
Lane plays newcomer Ella Forster, who made her first appearance in the village last week.
Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk met Ella at a vets' social event. Ella is the personal assistant of loudmouth managing director Jules, who treats her badly.

When Jules was rude about Mandy, Ella stood up for her and poured a drink over him, with a friendship quickly forming between the pair.
Riley, who plays Mandy, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her new co-star and the relationship between their characters.
She wrote: "THANK YOU for all your lovely comments about Mandy & Ella's new friendship… @paula_laney, playing Ella, is a bloody joy to work with, and is full of fun, which ALWAYS works. We have more to come soon… so keep watching."
Lane replied to the sweet post by writing, "Aw Lisa," alongside some heart emojis.

The comment section was full of compliments for the new duo, with one viewer writing, "I love Mandy & Ella['s] new friendship, they are the new Thelma and Louise," and another commenting: "Absolutely love this duo!!! Can't wait to see them both together more on screen!"
There will be more to come as Ella will be sticking around long-term in the village, with Manpreet Sharma offering her a job opportunity as a receptionist at the new doctors' surgery.
Lane is no stranger to the soap world, as she played David's wife Kylie Platt in Coronation Street for six years – becoming a much-loved character before she was tragically killed in 2016.

On the announcement of her casting, Lane said: "I'm so excited to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. Everyone has been so welcoming and I can't wait to start a new chapter playing the role of Ella.
"I've already heard there are big plans for her and I can't wait to see her navigate a new life in the village and hopefully make some friends!"
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
