Employee of Greensburg restaurant accused of hiding cellphone in restroom, recording women

An employee of a local restaurant is behind bars after police say he hid a cell phone in the women’s restroom at the restaurant and recorded them while they were undressing.

State Police say Victor Perez hid an iPhone in a women’s handicapped bathroom stall to record them undressing and using the restroom.

“It’s disgusting that somebody would consider even thinking of doing something like that,” said Trooper Steve Limani.

According to state police, a mom was in the handicapped stall with her 2-year-old daughter on Jan. 31.

When she bent down to help her daughter, she saw the iPhone propped between the wall and the toilet in the neighboring stall.

She grabbed the phone and saw it was recording. That’s when she called the police.

According to troopers, the 2-year-old is seen on that video taking her pants off.

When police searched the phone, they found 46 videos going back to Nov. 22.

Perez is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison and charged with child porn, invasion of privacy, and other charges. He’s due in court Feb. 21.

Troopers said Perez is illegally in the country from Guatemala. They said he admitted to recording the women for his pleasure.

“I was really surprised,” said Jack Wilder before having lunch at Peking Garden on Monday. “I’ve been coming here for years. It’s a very good restaurant. I guess there’s nothing that surprises me today.”

“It’s scary on a number of levels,” said Theda Parke. “First of all, it’s a child and her mother. Second of all, I want to know who doesn’t clean those bathrooms!”

State Police are asking women to contact them if they used that bathroom any time in the last two months.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to identify all of them, I doubt we will, but hopefully we’ll be able to identify most of them,” Limani added.

Perez is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison. He is charged with child porn, invasion of privacy, and other charges. He’s due in court on Feb. 21.
