PARK RIDGE – Park Ridge will have a new drive-thru coffee shop soon.

Hana Cutler, Lana Johnson and Kelly Rasmussen are opening a second Emy J’s location at 31 Park Ridge Drive. The new coffee shop is called the Coffee Vault, a nod to the vault that remains from the days when the building housed Pioneer Bank and First State Bank.

The Coffee Vault will open early next week and will host a grand opening celebration in June.

Customers can expect a similar Emy J’s menu, including the full coffee menu, bakery items, smoothies and a shake of the day. Cutler said there won’t be ice cream at the Park Ridge location, but it will have nitro brews on the menu.

The Park Ridge location is also bigger than the site on First Street in downtown Stevens Point, offering more space for events and live music, as well as a patio and green space behind the building for guests to be able to play yard games, Cutler said.

Cutler said she never thought of adding a second Emy J's location, but the right opportunity came up at just the right time. A building with a drive-thru became available in an underserved area, and it felt like the right fit.

Johnson and Cutler said they have already heard a lot of excitement from people in the area after they shared their new location on the coffee shop's Facebook page.

Cutler, Johnson and Rasmussen put in a lot of work to turn the former bank into a coffee shop, including ripping out carpets, knocking out interior windows and painting. Cutler said she's excited to continue to add creative touches to the space.

"It's a beautiful space," she said. "We're happy to be here."

The Coffee Vault will be open at 6:30 a.m. and serve coffee until 5 p.m., Cutler said, with plans to eventually add a wine and beer menu and stay open later in the evenings. The Coffee Vault will also host events like game nights and painting activities.
