Encana: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Encana Corp. (OVV) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Calgary, Alberta-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 81 cents per share.

The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 81 cents per share.

The energy company posted revenue of $1.57 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $234 million, or 90 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $6.73 billion.

Encana shares have declined 31% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 52% in the last 12 months.
