The encirclement of the Russian troops near Lyman in the Donetsk region is "at the final stage".

Quote from Cherevatyi: "Measures are continuing to complete the encirclement of Russian troops in the area of Lyman, and almost all logistics routes are under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

Details: Ukrainian defenders published a video of the Russian invaders fleeing in the direction towards Lyman and called such a "retreat" —  "tactical regrouping".

Background:

  • The Institute for the Study of War previously reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the evening of 29 September probably completed the encirclement of the Russian troops in the Lyman location of Donetsk Oblast. According to some reports, the Ukrainian military will be able to take the city if the Russians do not receive reinforcements.

  • Ukrainian soldiers have reclaimed the town of Yampil, Donetsk Oblast, near Lyman city.
