Many quickly took to social media to react to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn a 2018 Mississippi law that bans most abortions after 15 weeks into pregnancy.
This case is being used to challenge the nearly 50-year-old Roe v. Wade decision, which has allowed abortions up to a certain point across the United States.
Supreme Court ruling:Jim Obergefell says Supreme Court abortion ruling puts target on privacy, gay marriage
The Supreme Court's decision on Friday gives the power to rule on abortion to individual states, a decision that abortion-rights supporters fear would lead to restrictions or bans on abortion in Ohio.
Meanwhile, anti-abortion supporters were excited about the decision in hopes that Roe v. Wade would be overturned in Ohio.
Supreme Court ruling: Supreme Court decision: Abortion will be regulated by states. Here's what Ohio lawmakers have done
Here's what is being said by some people in Ohio on social media:
'Abortion is nowhere in the Constitution'
Abortion is nowhere in the Constitution. The 14th Amendment is about slaves rights after the civil war. The last thing Americans wanted in 1865 was more deaths. We need more babies, not less.

Dobbs won't end abortions. It will end safe, legal abortions
Dobbs won’t end abortions. It will end safe and legal abortions. Women will die because of it.
This is a sad day and this ruling will likely lead to overturning same sex marriage and your right to contraception.
Let’s turn our anger into action. https://t.co/684kvajrrh— Jan Materni (@MaterniOhio75) June 24, 2022

He's praying for Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine to ban abortions
I was in a zoom call with the Governor DeWine (Ohio) yesterday.
I prayed for him and especially his commitment to banning abortion.
American conservatives, I know the Republicans can be frustrating.
But as a Canadian, believe me--you have it better than other conservatives.— Samuel Sey (@SlowToWrite) June 18, 2022
'This is where American democracy is headed'
The right to an abortion goes back to the state legislatures to decide. For us in Ohio, that legislature is using unconstitutional maps where Republican electeds have drawn districts with guaranteed wins. The voters have no voice. This is where American democracy is headed.

'It's not government overreach for SCOTUS to stop overruling state legislatures'
1-It's not government overreach for SCOTUS to stop overruling state legislatures.
2-The current Ohio law does not deny women lifesaving care, it has an exception for health of the mother.
3-The extreme abortion position is Tim's. He wants abortion until birth...for any reason.— Jim Martin (@The_Jim_Martin) June 24, 2022
'Abortion is still legal in Ohio'
Not for long, but as of NOW…Abortion is still legal in Ohio.

Overturning Roe vs. Wade 'is a great step'
Praise God! 🙌
There’s a lot of work to do on the state level but this is a great step! https://t.co/Wi1PrnoLa6— Taylor Eaton (@TaylorAlanEaton) June 24, 2022
Gov. Mike DeWine the target of abortion-rights supporters
@MikeDeWine thank you for limiting abortion rights 👍🏻👍🏻 I'd rather die than live in this country and Ohio. Please resign, you utter failure of a governor.

Will companies like Intel go forward with plans to move massive production into states like Ohio that will ban all abortion?
Will companies like @intel go forward with plans to move massive production into states like Ohio that will ban all abortion? Will their female execs want to move here? They have tremendous leverage. Will they use it?

@intel Please put pressure on Ohio to protect women’s rights in the state. DeWine has stated that he wants a full ban on abortion . This would have catastrophic consequences.
