Energy Talks hosted by Shale Oil & Gas Magazine headed to UTPB

Oct. 5—Energy Talks, hosted by Shale Oil & Gas Magazine, is coming to UT Permian Basin. The event will be held in the UTPB Library at 9 a.m. Oct. 11.

Energy Talks is a series that brings together leaders from across the oil and gas industry, the political arena, and academia to foster meaningful conversations about how energy affects our lives.

"Because the climate change narrative can be a skewed picture of the current environmental condition, a broader perspective led by data is necessary," Kym Bolado, CEO at Shale Magazine, said in a news release. "We need to include energy, economics, population ecology, human behavior, and many other geopolitical variables in order to understand the true extent of the issue and develop meaningful, collective responses."

Energy Talks will feature several presenters including:

— Omar Garcia, Chief External Affairs Officer for Port Corpus Christi

— Paul Madero, SVP Production Solutions at Baker for Baker Hughes

— Tim McMahon, Project Manager and Principal Investigator at the University of Texas at Austin

— Todd Staples, President of Texas Oil & Gas Association

— Dale Winger, Managing Director for Halliburton Labs

— Casey Yates, Director of Finance for Permian Strategic Partnership

"Our participation in this event highlights our port's significant contributions to driving economic development, promoting innovation, and ensuring energy security for the future. The influential leaders present today are crucial in leading the way as we navigate the evolving global energy landscape with a thoughtful, data-driven approach to secure America's position as a leader in this transformation," added Garcia, Chief External Affairs Officer for Port Corpus Christi.

"At UT Permian Basin we are committed to serving the region, and that includes gathering thought-leaders who can offer perspective on important conversations. We are delighted to host this event. As we do with the Permian Basin Water in Energy Conference, we believe gathering experts and exploring innovation is key to fostering a successful future," UTPB President Sandra Woodley said.

The community and industry leaders are invited to attend to learn more and participate in these important conversations. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time to claim your seat.
