Enfield woman charged with nearly $150K in Medicaid fraud

An Enfield woman who allegedly billed Medicaid nearly $150,000 in services from unlicensed individuals or provided no services at all, was arrested Monday afternoon.

Marcy L. Taliceo, 45, was charged with health insurance fraud and first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community after billing the government insurance program for around $142,000 in psychotherapy services by unlicensed people and more than $6,000 in services while Tailceo was out of state or clients were in the hospital, investigators said.

Over the course of just under four and a half years, Taliceo, who was the president, treasurer and secretary of a behavioral health clinic group called Growing Potential Services, pocketed $148,576.65, according to an arrest warrant.

Taliceo is free on a $150,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on March 23.

The two charges combined are punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
